Sing It Out: Where Melody Meet Mindfulness

Welcome to Sing It Out, our mindful choir nestled in the heart of Rye. Here, we believe in the transformative power of song, learning, and laughter to dissolve life's stresses and worries.

Our choir mantra, "All will be well," is more than just words—it's a guiding light that illuminates our journey toward calm and serenity in everyday life.

At Sing It Out, everyone is welcome, regardless of singing ability. We create a safe and nurturing space where connections flourish and voices harmonize in perfect unity.

Under the guidance of the talented Rebecca Lodge-Birkebaek, we embark on a musical journey together, learning and mastering enchanting arrangements that stir the soul. With each note, we cultivate a sense of accomplishment and pride, embracing the joy of creating beautiful music as one.

But our mission doesn't end there. We're dedicated to supporting our local community and lending a helping hand to charities in need. Because at Sing It Out, we believe that music has the power to uplift not only our spirits but also the world around us.

Join us for an unforgettable experience filled with feel-good fun and the sweet sounds of harmony. Let's Sing It Out together!

With love and harmony,

Jo & Rebecca x

Meet the teacher! Rebecca Lodge Birkebaek

Rebecca is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied singing and piano. During her time at the RAM, she received many prizes, including the Lloyds Bank Scholarship for postgraduate study, which enabled her to complete her studies on the Opera Course.

Her career over the last 25 years as soloist, former member of the BBC Singers (the United Kingdom’s only full- time, professional chamber choir),  former staff member of the Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, choral conductor, educator and workshop leader has given her a wealth of experience. Equally at home performing on stage, in the recording studio or broadcasting on television and radio she brings energy, fun and commitment to all her projects.

Rebecca has a great passion for music education, encouraging and inspiring people of all ages and abilities to improve their singing through choral workshops, leading sessions for the BBC Performing Groups, the Kings’ Singers, and Berkshire Maestros amongst many others. As conductor of several choirs, including the Intermediate Choir of the Finchley Children’s Music Group, Rebecca is delighted to be leading ‘Sing It Out’, Rye’s newest choral experience!

“I want to sing like the birds sing. Not worrying about who hears or what they think.”
