Joanna Allen - Founder

Joanna Allen - Founder/ Holistic health teacher

Jo, a Yoga & Holistic Health teacher and the founder of The Humble Warrior, extends a warm welcome to you!

From the bustling world of fashion buying in London to the serene landscape of East Sussex, Jo's journey toward holistic wellness was ignited by a series of life's challenges. Finding solace in holistic practices during times of upheaval, Jo embraced her dream of sharing these transformative experiences with her community. Guiding with compassion, she orchestrates wellness events, classes, and retreats that intertwine movement, meditation, motivation, mantra, music, moon magic, and mindfulness.

Trained in Vinyasa, Yin, Tantra, Kundalini yoga, along with meditation, sound healing and breathwork, Jo's expertise spans a rich tapestry of disciplines. Her passion for sound healing and the healing power of music enriches her offerings, adding layers of depth and vibrancy to the practices.

In the summer, you'll find Jo guiding yoga on the beach, harnessing the soothing sounds of the sea to enhance the moving meditation experience. She also leads Retreats amidst serene natural surroundings, emphasising the healing benefits of connecting with nature's energy.

Beyond yoga and meditation, Jo fosters connections and community through gatherings such as a mindful choir, Women’s Circles, Full Moon ceremonies, and social meet-ups. These gatherings serve as beacons of connection, gratitude, self-discovery and healing.

Jo believes in making holistic wellness accessible to all. Your contribution is valued not only for its monetary worth but for the exchange of energy and connection it represents.

With Jo, every event is an invitation to discover your true nature, connect with your intuition, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Welcome to The Humble Warrior, where transformation begins with connection.

Rachael Voss - Yoga teacher

Rachael Voss - Yoga teacher

Rachael has been practising yoga for many years before completing her 200-hour teacher training with Yoga Haven, followed by certificates in Pregnancy, Post-Natal, Mum and Baby and Children’s yoga.

She loves teaching Vinyasa Flow, with classes having an upbeat feel while also providing a chance to relax and unwind in chilled yin and restorative classes.  Her favourite being a mix of the two, creating the perfect yoga experience wrapped up into one session – taking the vibes up then settling them back down to finish floating on a cloud.

Rachael welcomes all abilities and is very welcoming of newcomers to yoga. She wants to get people moving, to make time for themselves, and to learn to take a deep breath and step back from the day-to-day routine of everyday life.

Rachael believes that regular exercise and creating space both physically and mentally is key to keeping a positive outlook on life.  Having her own invisible illness she understands that everyone has their own personal struggles and their own reason for trying yoga. She welcomes anyone to give it a go and is happy to chat about individual needs or provide modifications – even if your first class is just lying on your mat!
